ACTIVE METABOLIC ANALYSIS

WHAT IS IT?

Active Metabolic Assessment measures your body's ability to obtain and utilise oxygen during exercise, identifying your current level of cardiorespiratory fitness and the physiological datapoints required to improve training specificity via the use of personalised training zones.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The assessment commences at a moderate intensity and the speed on a treadmill, or resistance on a stationary bicycle, is increased at one minute intervals until you reach maximum effort and are no longer able to continue. During the test, our state of the art medical grade laboratory equipment measures your ability to obtain and utilise oxygen to produce energy, along with the amount of calories burned and the ratio of fat / carbohydrate utilised.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This assessment is ideal for anyone looking to establish their current level of cardiorespiratory fitness and discover optimal training zone intensities required to improve specific areas of cardiorespiratory fitness.

WHY IS IT USEFUL?

The Active Metabolic Assessment is a great way to establish your current level of cardiorespiratory fitness and determine personalised training zones unique to you and your individual physiology. From elite athletes to individuals completely fresh to fitness, this assessment provides you with a baseline from which your fitness progress can be measured, along with all of the information required to ensure that your future workouts are as effective and efficient as possible.

DATA OBTAINED:

Aerobic Threshold. Anaerobic Threshold. VO2 Max. Max Heart Rate. Heart Rate Recovery. Caloric Expenditure. Carbohydrate / Fat Utilisation.

WHAT DO I GET?

Following your Active Metabolic Assessment, you receive a comprehensive  report interpreting your test results, along with your personalised training zones and detailed instructions on how best to implement them into your training routine.

RESTING METABOLIC ANALYSIS

WHAT IS IT?

The Resting Metabolic Assessment measures the ratio of inspired oxygen and expired carbon dioxide via your breath, identifying the amount of calories required to lose, maintain or gain weight, with clinical accuracy.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The assessment is performed in a relaxed seated position. During the test, our state of the art medical grade laboratory equipment measures your breathing and evaluates its composition, revealing the precise amount of calories you burn at rest, along with the ratio of fat / carbohydrate utilised.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Resting Metabolic Assessment is ideal for anyone looking to make adjustments to their weight, or improve performance fuelling strategies.

WHY IS IT USEFUL?

Whether your goal is to lose weight or improve performance, understanding your resting metabolic rate will allow you to customise a diet to suit your specific needs. It can also screen for a slowed metabolism (explaining frustrated attempts to lose weight in the past), reveal changes in your metabolic rate during the weight loss process (preventing frustrating plateaus) and provide optimal caloric requirements to improve performance.

DATA OBTAINED:

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). Daily Calorie Requirements. Respiratory Exchange Ratio (Carbohydrate / Fat Burn).

WHAT DO I GET?

Following your Resting Metabolic Assessment, you receive a detailed report interpreting your test results, along with nutritional recommendations indicating the optimal calorie intake and macronutrient ratio required to achieve your specific goal.
