ACTIVE METABOLIC ASSESSMENT™

WHAT IS IT?

Considered the Gold Standard in fitness testing, the Active Metabolic Assessment™ is a maximal exercise test used to establish cardiovascular fitness, the amount of calories - fat/carbohydrates - burned during activity and the optimal training zone intensities required to improve fitness and performance.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Active Metabolic Assessment commences at a moderate intensity and the speed on a treadmill - or resistance - on a stationary bicycle - is increased at one minute intervals until you reach maximum effort and are no longer able to continue. During the test our state of the art, medical grade laboratory equipment, measures your physiological response to the increasing exercise intensity, revealing the exact points at which your Ventilatory Thresholds (VT1 & VT2), FatMax, VO2 Max and Max Heart Rate are detected.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This assessment is ideal for anyone looking to establish their current level of cardiovascular fitness, discover how their body metabolises fat and carbohydrates during activity and reveal the optimal training zone intensities required to improve specific areas of cardiovascular fitness.

WHY IS IT USEFUL?

Metabolic Thresholds not only provide an incredibly accurate indication of cardiovascular fitness, but also determine personalised training zone intensities unique to you and your individual physiology. From elite athletes to individuals completely fresh to fitness, this test provides you with a baseline from which your fitness progress can be measured along with all the information required to ensure that your future workouts are as effective and efficient as possible.

DATA OBTAINED:

Ventilatory Thresholds (VT1 & VT2), Substrate Utilisation During Exercise, FatMax, VO2 Max, Max Heart Rate.

WHAT DO I GET?

Following your Active Metabolic Assessment™, you will receive a comprehensive report on your test results along with your Personalised Training Zones and detailed instructions on how best to implement them into your training routine.

RESTING METABOLIC ASSESSMENT™

WHAT IS IT?

The Resting Metabolic Assessment is the best way to learn about your metabolism. The assessment is a non-invasive procedure used to measure the respiratory exchange ratio of inspired oxygen and expired carbon dioxide, identifying precisely how many calories are required to lose, maintain or gain weight.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The assessment is performed in a relaxed, seated position. During the test our state of the art, medical grade laboratory equipment, measures your breathing and evaluate its composition, revealing the precise amount of calories that are required to function while at rest.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Resting Metabolic Assessment is ideal for anyone looking to make adjustments to their weight, or improve performance fuelling strategies.

WHY IS IT USEFUL?

Whether your goals are to lose weight or improve performance, understanding your resting metabolic rate will allow you to customise your diet around your specific needs. It can screen for a slowed metabolism (explaining frustrated attempts to lose weight in the past), reveal changes in your metabolic rate during the weight loss process (preventing frustrating plateaus) and provide optimal caloric requirements to improve performance.

DATA OBTAINED:

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). Daily Calorie Requirements. Respiratory Quotient (Carbohydrate/Fat Metabolism).

WHAT DO I GET?

Following your assessment you will receive a detailed report revealing the precise amount of calories and ratio of fat/carbohydrate you are burning at rest - providing accurate guidance on how many calories you should be consuming and what what macronutrient ratio to use in order to; lose, maintain or gain weight and/or improve performance.
